Dangers of mainstream media
- Memoir – Day to Day issues including the censorship of real news, viruses, hackers and overall negative impact on consciousness.
- Argumentative – How the news today broadcasts publicizes news based on how much attention/clicks they will get rather than being truthful and giving us what we actually need to know with what is going on in the world.
- Photo Brochure – Will be presenting issues that most of us don’t know about and providing pictures with what is going on elsewhere that the news does not promote

Your topics seem fine as public argument/photo essay (though it may be challenging to evaluate credibility of your sources). How do you think it can fit into the ten themes I identified? It’s awfully narrow to stick with for the whole semester (and I will be drawing articles for Essay 2 from one of those ten broad themes, so may not match your news commentary). And I don’t think your suggestion for memoir really fits the assignment. Memoirs should be more personal, first-person narratives. Can you think of an experience you had where you came to believe this about news coverage? Or some experience related in some way? Your focus in memoir will be on more personal impact, rather than critique of journalism. We can chat about this more through email or Zoom if you’d like.
